On Friday, October 19th in the afternoon, the restored baroque secretary returned to the renovated sacristy. This rare and important piece of furniture for storing not only liturgical vessels has undergone thorough restoration, and its aesthetic and utility value has been restored. The bottom part of the cabinet has been reinforced, especially the loose doors. Missing parts of the inlay have been added, mechanical damage repaired, and the overall worn surface cleaned. The restored cabinet is treated against wood-destroying fungi and insects.
The total cost of restoring the secretary is relatively high (420,000 CZK), but certainly not excessive. Such work requires a large amount of time and careful attention to every detail. The Pardubice Region contributed an amount of 130,000 CZK, with the rest financed by the parish from the collection for the renovation of the sacristy. We thank all donors.
